About the International Academy of Languages

Our mission is to open doors through language. We provide practical, real-world instruction so you can communicate with confidence, connect across cultures, and thrive in a bilingual, global city such as San Diego.
Whether you’re a traveler, a professional, or a neighbor down the street, we meet you where you are and help you find your voice.

25 years of experience in language education

With us, you will find reliable instruction that will help you achieve success.

Why students choose us

Small classes, real conversation. We keep groups small, so every student gets speaking time every session and not just grammar drills.

Instructors who’ve lived it.

Our teachers are native and near-native speakers who bring the culture into the classroom, not just the vocabulary list.

A curriculum that goes somewhere.

Every level build toward a clear, measurable outcome, from your first “hola” to holding a real conversation.

Flexible enough for real life.

Evening and weekend sessions, in-person at our San Diego location, built around working adults’ schedules.

A community, not just a classroom.

We provide practical, real-world instruction so you can communicate with confidence, connect across cultures, and thrive in a bilingual, global city. Whether you’re a traveler, a professional, or a neighbor down the street, we meet you where you are and help you find your voice — one conversation at a time.

Spanish

Our story

For 25 years, the International Academy of Languages has helped people build real language skills for real life. What started as a small language program has grown into a trusted academy known for practical instruction, patient teaching, and a genuine love of the languages and cultures we teach.

Our approach

We believe language learning should feel useful from day one. Instead of memorizing isolated rules, you’ll practice the Spanish or Portuguese you’ll actually use: greeting people, asking for directions, ordering food, talking about your day, and — as you progress — handling business conversations with confidence. Every class blends grammar, vocabulary, listening, and speaking practice, with regular check-ins so you can see your own progress.
